General : Jamaica is a Caribbean island nation known for its stunning beaches, Reggae music, and vibrant culture. It is the third-largest island in the Caribbean and is located south of Cuba and west of Haiti. The capital of Jamaica is Kingston, which is known for its rich history, music, and food.
Other major cities include Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, both of which are popular tourist destinations. Jamaica is famous for its white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and year-round warm weather. Popular beaches include Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay, and Treasure Beach in St. Elizabeth.
Food : Jamaican cuisine is a fusion of African, European, and indigenous influences. Some popular dishes include jerk chicken, ackee and saltfish, and curry goat.
In general people think traveling to Jamaica is expensive with the all inclusive hotels. As a solo, 40 plus budget travel, I had to do all the research before I got there to stay on budget.
I landed at Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay. You can take Knutsford Express bus (you will find the buses parked as you walk out of the airport) if you are traveling to Negril or Kingston. If you are heading into Montego Bay or one of the All Inclusives on the coast, you can take a taxi. Negotiate the price before you get into the taxi.
I decided to stay in Mobay Kotch Hostel in Montego Bay after reading all the good reviews. It was a good decision. The cheapest way to get to Moba Kotch Hostel from the airport, is to walk out of the airport through the check-in main gate. Right in front of the gate there will taxi with ‘Route Taxi’ mentioned on the door. All of them go to Montego Bay downtown and will charge you one America Dollar or 150 JMD.
The hostel is very chill and the owner is super helpful to guide you to activities without paying for fancy packages.

Ocho Rios : I decided to do a trip to Ocho Rios.
